Proudly representing the Creator Economy

Suit Up &
Embrace the
Evolution of
the Creator Economy

The Creator Economy is on a transformative journey.  It is no longer just a playground for enthusiasts, but a professional environment.  The barriers to entry and expectations have been raised.  A professional team is more vital than ever to service the highly competitive, ambitious, and dedicated Creator.

The “Wild West” attitude, which enabled the chaotic, free-for-all land grab of creator deals, is rapidly fading for the better.  This mindset strained business relationships and diminished quality.  The Creator Economy is stabilizing. Creators and Brands are commanding each other’s commitment and accountability, but they will need help.

Poe Law PLLC embraces the forward trajectory of the Creator Economy, and facilitates professionalism, stability, and excellence in this new, sophisticated frontier of creator dealmaking.  The firm accomplishes this, in part, by identifying and defining the key roles and responsibilities that make up the professional creator’s support system of today and tomorrow.

Let’s get started.

Creators in the Creator Economy are not hobbyists.

They are professionals.

They rely upon industry standards,
demand stability,
and seek a professional support system.

Welcome to the Negotiating Table!

Poe Law PLLC champions the vibrant creator ecosystem by uniting Creators, Brands, Agencies, and Managers around the table.  Through legal guidance and effective business acumen, creativity can flourish and be rewarded properly.  Success is not a solo act.  Poe Law PLLC sets the stage for effective collaboration and game-changing innovation.

Access your seat at the table below to find out how Poe Law PLLC will collaborate with you to accelerate the Creator Economy:

  • A Brand is more than the sum of its products. The Brand succeeds when it forges a strong connection with its community. A prominent strategy today is for Brands to engage Creators to make that connection to the rest of the community.

The Brand risks squandering resources if they are unable to source the best creators, ensure “brand safety,” and maintain efficient processes to maximize the success of the campaign.

Poe Law consults and facilitates upon the development of creator campaigns, using and drafting such tools as customized Master Service Agreements/IO’s, NDA’s, Collaboration agreements, Production agreements and a wide variety of other legal documents.

Poe Law assesses legal risks to the Brand and works with the Brand and talent representatives to keep creators accountable.

The law firm also offers general legal services, and operates as an outside ally to your CMO or marketing strategists, emboldening them to drive results.

  • The Agency’s role is to procure the opportunity from the Brand, present it to the Creator, negotiate the terms of the deal, and close.

Poe Law provides business affairs services for creator talent agencies, reviewing and drafting the agreements from the negotiating table. The firm facilitates deal flow, and mediates issues/deal points between creators and brands.

The law firm will work with your legal and accounting teams to establish fee binders, credit reference checks, and other safeguards to secure inbound fees and commissions, including escrow.

If you do not have a General Counsel, Poe Law will also provide general counsel services to handle corporate governance and other legal issues arising from the Agency as a corporate entity.

  • Creator creates.
    Poe Law facilitates.

Poe Law will review your inbound agreements and provide legal insight to secure your rights. Your fame, social media assets, and connection to your audience deserve protection, and Poe Law provides guidance and safeguards for your Right of Publicity. Does the Brand want to move forward without an agreement? Poe Law will write one!

Poe Law offers a safe, discreet, and confidential environment to discuss your creative ideas, and map the plan to bring them to life. Once created, the firm assists with protecting your hard work via registering copyrights and trademarks.

Agents? Lawyers? Managers? Where do you begin?

Poe Law commits to its core purposes to service and unite a comprehensive team to enable Creators to focus on their projects. Poe Law implements years of experience working alongside talent representatives to facilitate and manage relationships between you and all of your agents, managers, publicists, accountants, and other professionals. The firm will negotiate your representatives’ contracts and provide legal guidance while your relationships flourish.

Legal issues from daily life can distract the creative process. Poe Law’s years of experience in general legal practice provides guidance and solutions in a wide variety of practice areas. The law firm will work with you toward solutions that will get you back to creating, and thinking less about that landlord, fender bender, or loan-out company matter.

  • The Talent Manager oversees the longterm career of the Creator, while attending to their day-to-day needs. While Agents focus on procuring the deal, the Manager focuses on the career trajectory of the Creator, (whether that deal closes or not).

Poe Law works with Management to support the daily processes, including reviewing and drafting agreements, while providing legal guidance for mapping the Creator’s future. With management and legal working hand-in-hand, the Creator can boldly pursue their projects knowing that their bases are covered.

Poe Law establishes the Creator/Management relationship with representation agreements and other documentation. The firm will mediate issues that arise within the relationship.

Poe Law acts as the Manager’s resource for addressing legal issues that arise in the daily life of the Creator, and will also assist the Manager’s corporate entity with business affairs and general counsel solutions.

  • Where are you going? The Negotiation Table is right here!

Let’s face it. Negotiations and deals break down. Disputes arise, forcing parties to run to court.

Agencies may want to consider mediating the issues between the Brand and the Creator to salvage the deal.

Brands may want to litigate the fact that a Creator underperformed.

Creators and Managers might have to chase down the fees due from the Agents and Brands.

Poe Law has seen all of the above (and then some). The firm is ready to take action by representing you in litigation services or participating on your behalf in Alternative Dispute Resolution, such as mediation and binding arbitration.
